Marks training continues. This time que ran a half marathon. He was the 9th person arriving, he made a good time. His dad came to support.
Y sigue el entrenamiento de Mark. Esta ves corrio medio maraton. Quedo en noveno lugar, hizo muy buen tiempo. Su papa vino a apoyarlo en esta carrera.
If you have gone to Harry Potter land you would know what I am talking about. My favorite ride was flying with Harry Potter in a broom. Universal Studios made Harry Potter land look so real that I felt I was in the city and the castle and loved it.
Disney Land is a complete performance from beginning to end. You experience a great place by the engineering of everything to a detail that I haven’t seen anywhere else, the employees really play their part as well, from parking to the disney characters ensuring you feel inside the world of disney. We were amazed by Disney’s envision and outstanding work.
My brother and my sister in law stayed with us which made everything much more fun! They survived the experienced of living a couple of days in our home.
I almost forgot to mention the super great fireworks in new years eve!
Si han ido a la tierra de Harry Potter en los Estudios Universales de Orlando saben exactamente de qué estoy hablando. Mi montaña rusa favorita (bueno simulador) era en la que volaba con Harry Potter en una escoba. Los Estudios Universales crearon la tierra de Harry Potter tan parecida que sentí que realmente estaba dentro de la ciudad y del castillo, por lo tanto estaba facinada, hasta provee la cerveza de mantequilla, que rica.
El Mundo de Disney es todo un gran espectáculo de principio a fin. Aqui te sientes maravillado por la construccion y logistica al mas minimo detalle que no he visto en ningún otro lugar, hasta los empleados realmente desempeñaban su papel, desde el empleado del estacionamiento hasta los personajes de Disney garantizaban que te sientas dentro de el mundo de Disney. Mark y yo nos sorprendimos por el gran visionario Disney y todo el trabajo invertido en este super parque.
Mi hermano y mi cuñada se quedaron con nosotros lo que hizo toda la experiencia súper más divertida! Sobrevivieron la experiencia de vivir por unos días en nuestra casa
Por poco y se me olvida comentar los fuegos artificiales super padrisimos que vimos esperando el anio nuevo!!!!
We spend about a month in Fort Myers of and on, our house projects were changing the carpet and adding granite countertops, both projects came out great the new look is more elegant and of course cleaner (talking about the carpet).
We were here for the holidays and spent christmas with Marks parents which were great hosts. The food was always great. For as much time we spent in Fort Myers we couldn’t avoid Marks parents to fall in love with the pets (their grandson and granddaughters). They already miss them as the pouches do too and catsy pu miss being the center of attention and loved all the time.
The weather was great, didn’t wanted to mention this much since everyone else is in a cold, cold weather.
We also visited Thomas Edison and Harrison Fords Estates and museums. I traveled in time while watching a video about Thomas Edison and all the inventions he made that changed the world. Also watching the house of the entrepreneur that facilitated for many americans the purchase of a car and started credits way before credit cards and loans where offered. These man never gave up and according to the movie Thomas Edison made hundreds of mistakes before coming up with the right inventions but he was so optimistic that he said he actually discovered thousand of ways of how an invention does not work 
Nos quedamos en Fort Myers aproximadamente 1 mes, nos dedicamos a actualizar la casa con la alfombra nueva y la piedra de granito en la cocina, todo quedo muy bien, ahora la casa se ve mas elegante y, por supuesto, esta más limpia (hablo de la alfombra).
Pasamos Navidad con los papas de Mark que fueron estupendos anfitriones. La comida era fantastica todo el tiempo. Como siempre las mascotas se ganaron los corazones de sus abuelos. Ya los extrañan y los perros también de la misma forma nuestra gatita extraña ser el centro de atención todo el tiempo.
Aunque estaba tratando de evadir el tema del clima, tengo que contarles que has estado genial, ya los se 
no en todos lados esta haciendo calor.
Visitamos el museo y la casa de invierno de Thomas Edison y Harrison Ford. He viajado en el tiempo mientras veía el vídeo de Thomas Edison y todos los inventos que hizo que cambiaron al mundo. También vi la casa del empresario Ford que facilitó para muchos estadounidenses la compra de un coche y comenzó un tipo de créditos mucho antes de que las tarjetas de crédito y préstamos existieran. Estos hombres nunca se rendían. De acuerdo a la película Thomas Edison hizo cientos de errores antes de llegar a las invenciones correctas, pero él era tan optimista que dijo que en realidad no había fallado sino había descubierto miles de maneras de cómo un invento no funciona
First of all I was exited after we bought all the goodies that Mark was going to eat during his race, but again I had to be reminded that they were for him, not for me
The race is one of the oldest ultra marathons and has been done for years with many people setting up new records. The race is on the pavement which can make it faster but can hurt more as well.
Mark did great he did a personal record by an hour at least. We sneaked in the park a day before after they closed and parked in a pretty good spot, stayed in the motorhome and Mark only had to walk the next day to the start line. You had to do eight 6.2 mile loops so every time Mark made a loop he would stop at the table I setup with all the goodies, foam rollers, etc. anything he needed was there. The first loops were like a disaster. I took the dogs out thinking that Mark would be happy to see them but they were a mess and I had to control them and couldn’t help mark. The second loop I went to the motorhome and the dogs escaped. Luke ran all the way to the start line in front of the race director, I was so embarrassed thinking out loud…Luke why do you do this to me! but they were cool about it. After that everything seem to go more smoothly.
The race was in Wakulla Springs so after the race I took a boat tour. It is the beginning of a river where the water comes from the bottom. The river is full of life, there are so many kinds of birds, alligators, fish and manatees. Something particular about this area is that the oak trees have spanish mooch in their branches that make them look spooky wooooooooo.

En primer lugar me emocione después de ver todos los aperitivos que compramos y que Mark iba a comer durante su carrera, pero de nuevo tuve que recordar que eran para él, no para mí : (
El ultramaraton es uno de los más antiguos ultramaratones que se ha hecho durante años en donde mucha gente ha obtenido records en tiempo. La carrera es en el pavimento lo que puede ayudar a correr mas rapido, pero duele mucho mas correr en pavimento
Mark logro su record personal lo cual fue aprox una hora mas rapido que su carrera de 50 millas anterior. Entramos de trampita al parque un día antes cuando ya habian cerrado las oficinas y estacionamos la casa en un lugar bastante bueno. Mark sólo tuvo que caminar hacia al inicio de la carrera. La carrera consistia de ocho vueltas de 6,2 millas cada una, cada vuelta Mark se paraba en la mesa que instale con toda la comida, kit medico, etc todo lo que necesitábamos estaba allí. La primera vez que Mark llego a la mesa en su primera vuelta todo fue un desastre. Saque a los perros pensando que Mark estaría feliz de verlos, pero ellos eran un desastre y tuve que controlarlos y no pode ayudar a Mark. Para la segunda vuelta tuve que entrar en la casa y los perros se escaparon. Lucas corrió a todo vuelo como loco hasta llegar en donde estaba el director de la carrera, yo estaba tan avergonzada pensando en voz alta … Lucas, ¿por qué me haces esto a mí? En las siguientes vueltas ya finalmente logre hacer mi parte y ayude a Mark.
La carrera fue en Wakulla Springs, después de la carrera tomé un paseo en barco. Wakulla Springs es el comienzo de un río donde el agua proviene de la parte inferior. El río está lleno de vida, hay muchos tipos de aves, caimanes, peces y manatíes(primera ves que los veo en vivo). Algo en particular acerca de esta área es que los robles tienen musgo español en sus ramas (como plantas que le cuelgan) que los hacen parecer espeluznaaaaaaaaaaaaaante.
Florida State College is huge and very nice, we walked all over, Mark gave me a tour. It has a medieval architecture in most of their buildings. They have a great school for dancing and performing arts which interest me but not for long after I was reminded of the hot humid weather they usually have.
Mark told me how big they were in sports, they won 2 times in football. They have this great tradition when they play their first game of the season. A guy dressed up as the seminoles indian tribe rides a horse to the middle of the field and drops a spear and they cheer with this indian chant that sounds great.
I also met Marks ex roommate from college Mike, A great smart guy. He is argentinian although the whole time we were with him we spoke english his first language is spanish. Now I know why Mark and him were friends, they are a lot alike.

La Universidad a la que fue Mark Florida State es enorme y muy agradable, caminamos por todas partes, Mark me dio un tour. Tiene una arquitectura medieval en la mayoría de sus edificios. Tienen una gran escuela para el baile y las artes escénicas que me interesaron en ese instante, pero no por mucho tiempo después de acordarme del clima super cálido y húmedo que por lo general tienen.
Mark me dijo lo bueno que son en los deportes y que han ganado dos veces en fútbol americano. La escuela tiene esta gran tradición al jugar su primer partido de la temporada. Un hombre disfrazado de la tribu de los Seminoles indio montado en un caballo cabalga a la mitad del campo y deja caer una laza al suelo y todos empiezan a cantar en coro sonidos tipo indigenas.
También conocí a ex compañero de cuarto de Marks de la universidad Mike, un gran tipo muy inteligente. Él es argentino, aunque el tiempo que estuvimos con él solo hablamos Inglés su primer idioma es español. Ahora sé por qué Mark y él eran amigos, son muy parecidos.
We drove through 4 states in one day. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
Our first stop was pensacola. At this city there is a national naval aviation museum. I thought I wan’t going to be too interested but to my surprised I loved the experience. They had planes everywhere, in the floor, hanging from the ceiling, etc they even had a section about air balloons. The blue angels planes were hanging super close but it seems that is not even close to how they fly their planes.
I couldn’t helped and had to get inside one of the planes, It reminded me when I was young and started imagining that I was talking to another pilot and checking my target and at the same time flying and I almost had to use the bomb button… but ok only in my imagination.
Mark and I tried this 3D flight simulator, Mark had to lift up the plane and once it was up we were doing all kind of turns, i enjoyed it.
The museum is free and they have one of a kind airplanes, they had one that George W. Bush flew just to mention.
Mark condujo a través de cuatro estados en un día. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama y Florida.
Nuestra primera parada fue en Pensacola. En esta ciudad hay un museo nacional de aviacion naval. Pensé que no me iba a parecer muy interesante, pero para mi sorpresa me encantó la experiencia. Tenían aeroplanos de todas partes, en el piso, colgando del techo, etc he incluso tenían una sección acerca de los globos aerostaticos. Los aviones de los ángeles azules colgaban súper cerca, pero parece que no está ni siquiera cerca de cómo vuelan estos aviones.
No me pude contener y me tuve que subir a uno de los aviones, me recordó cuando yo era joven y me empeze a imaginar que yo estaba hablando con otro piloto buscando mi objetivo y volando al mismo tiempo y casi tuve que usar el botón de una bomba … pero está bien sólo en mi imaginación.
Mark y yo nos subimos a este simulador de vuelo 3D, Mark tuvo que levantar el avión y una vez que estabamos volando hicimos todo tipo de vueltas, lo disfruté.
El museo es gratuito y tienen aviones unicos como el que George W.Bush voló solo por mencionar alguno.
This city is very unique. There were many things that I haven’t seen in other cities besides that there are swamps all over, New Orleans has the famous French Quarter with old houses all of them with a second floor and patio in the front most of them turned into clubs. It is a very old city and it was part of France during some years, they even spoke french a long time ago here.
We arrived downtown around 8 pm and starte crossing by feet a park, then we saw people with tables in front of them that had candles and a sign (tarot readings, palm readings). Also I saw a group of people standing in front of a building and they were the vampire tour, which takes you to haunted places and they have voodoo tours, ghost tours, cemeteries tours etc.
The cemeteries are different too, people are not buried under ground because there is too much water, they are above ground and they build a kind of a box around it tall enough to walk in with doors in the front.
The main party street had many, many clubs, bars with live music, lots of jazz. A very artsy city and a big party city you can even drink in public.
Definitely if you like to party this is the place to go.
Llegamos al centro de la ciudad alrededor de las 8 pm y al cruzar un parque, vimos a gente con mesas en frente de ellos que tenian velas y un letrero (lecturas del tarot, lecturas de la palma de la mano). También vi a un grupo de personas de pie delante de un edificio y eran el tour de vampiros, que son llevados a lugares embrujados y tienen tambien recorridos vudú, de fantasmas y excursiones a cementerios, etc
Los cementerios también son diferentes, las personas no están enterrados bajo tierra, porque hay demasiada agua, están por encima del suelo y construyen una especie de caja alrededor de los ataudes lo suficientemente alto como para entrar con las puertas en la parte delantera.
En la calle principal hay muchos clubes, bares con música en vivo, un montón de jazz. Una ciudad muy artística y siempre de fiesta incluso se puede beber en público.
Definitivamente, si te gusta divertirte escuchando musica y haciendo relajo este es el lugar para ti.
I love to go back to Dallas to see family and enjoy the company of my friends. My cusin Bielca hosted us all the time we were in Dallas yupiyuuuu.
I went to Keith’s (ex coworker) wedding in Denton which was very nice and got to see my other ex coworkers and chitchat for a while.
On thanksgivng Rafa, Abner and I ran our first 5k together dressed as indians at the Dallas Turkey Trott wich I enjoyed very much. I also spend thanksgiving with them, my sisters in law and Mark. We had lots of food, very, very good food. Luke(my dog) got to play with his cousin Titus (abners dog) and with Lindsey (Karyssas dog)
I also went to run a trails at Lake Ray Roberts with my friend Christina, cousin Bielca and Mark, we ended up seeing wild turkeys, to bad it was after thanksgiving… just kidding.
Fui a la boda de Keith (mi ex compañero de trabajo) en Denton que estuvo muy agradable y me toco ver a mis ex compañeros de trabajo y charlar un rato.
En thanksgivng Rafa, Abner y yo corrimos juntos nuestro primer 5K disfrazados de indios en el Turkey Trott de Dallas, que me gustó bastante. También pase acción de gracias con ellos, mis cuñadas y Mark. Tuvimos bastante comida muy, muy buena. Luke (mi perro) llegó a jugar con su primo Titus (el perro abner) y con Lindsey (perra de Karyssas)
También fui a correr unos senderos en el lago Ray Roberts con mi amigaCristina, prima Bielca y Mark, y terminamos viendo pavos salvajes, mala suerte que fue después de la acción de gracias … es bromita claro.
We stayed at this park and we realized that is a cool place. It is desert but if you go out to trails you can hike and get to parts where you see pine trees. I did a trail where it used to be covered in water long, long time ago so you see rocks that are dead corals. The time of the year made it nice to see all the autumn colors. My hike ended with this natural steps made out of rocks. If you are around that area and like to hike go and enjoy this place.

Nos alojamos en este parque y nos dimos cuenta de que es un lugar my padre. Es en el desierto, pero si vas por los senderos de los montes llegas a apartes donde se ve los pinos, porque la vegetacion cambia. Hice un recorrido en el que solía estar cubierta de agua hace mucho, mucho tiempo, las rocas que ves realmente son corales muertos. La época del año, fue agradable para apreciar todos los colores del otoño. Mi caminata terminó en donde habia escaleras formadas naturalmente de rocas. Si algun dia andan alrededor de esta zona y les gusta caminar tienen que ir a este lugar.
We had to watch a video before being able to hike hueco tanks. It is a sacred land for the indians and it has paintings on the rocks that need to be preserved. They only allow a certain numbers of hikers, climbers and tour guides at a specific time so we had to wait for people to finish hiking for us to go. It is a super unique place one of the mecas for climbers all around the world. We felt like kids playing faling the leader and climbing up and down like when we were young. This is the only place where I have seen this kind of rocks in the whole USA. Super Cool

Tuvimos que ver un vídeo antes de poder ir de excursión a los tanques de Hueco. Es una tierra sagrada para los indios y tiene pinturas en las rocas que deben ser preservadas. Sólo permiten un determinado número de excursionistas, escaladores y guías en un momento determinado, así que tuvimos que esperar para que la gente terminara su excursión para que pudieramos subir. Se trata de un un súper lugar único, tipo meca para los escaladores de todo el mundo. Nos sentimos como niños jugando a serguir a donde vaya el líder y subimos y bajamos por lar rocas como cuando éramos jóvenes. Este es el único lugar donde he visto este tipo de rocas en todo USA. super padritsimo.
